The Pavilion Artists

The Pavilion Artists is a multidisciplinary artist’s collective working through collaboration and creative exploration in site-specific contexts.  Underpinned by research, residency and reclamation of shared spaces, The Pavilion Artists respond directly to unique environments.

Facilitated by The Pavilion Artists, THRESH / HOLD a derivative of the word ‘threshold’, acts as both a physical and metaphorical boundary.  Exploring the point of transition, entry and transformation within artistic practice, THRESH / HOLD is multifaceted, drawing from a combination of ideas through initial participation in a pilot residency program at the Dayboro Showgrounds – a space steeped in layered history and communal memory.  The residency (August – September 2026) will explore site resonance, historical context, rural and regional identity, impermanence, and the interplay between conceptual art and locality.

THRESH / HOLD will interrogate the spatial and psychological effects of art on place, examining the relationship between artists and rural environments, and the impact of their interventions on community perception and historical narrative. The agricultural reference to ‘thresh’ - toss, turn, and process - anchors the exhibition in the region’s farming legacy while inviting broader interpretations of change and renewal.
