CV
Kylie Harries is a multidisciplinary Australian artist whose research-led practice integrates found and foraged materials, photography, video, painting and installation. Her work navigates the intersection of feminism, sustainability, and place to elevate storytelling from a regional perspective. Incorporating images and text from photographic and written archives, her work uncovers and honours women’s contributions to familial and societal structures. Illuminating forgotten histories - notably those that have been hidden, erased, or overlooked – she highlights the transient and liminal, informed by her roles as mother, daughter, educator and woman farmer, inviting audiences to revere and remember. For her, care and inclusivity grounded in community is an essential framework for ensuring humanity’s survival beyond the Anthropocene.
Kylie collaborates with artist collectives Three of Cups, The Pavilion Artists, and Dayboro Artworks Association. She has exhibited in group and solo shows nationally with the Redcliffe Art Gallery, The Hub Gallery Caboolture, The Old Fire Station Gallery Redcliffe, Belconnen Arts Centre Canberra and Deakin University Melbourne. She has worked with local and state government bodies City of Moreton Bay, Ipswich and Mount Isa City Councils, Education Queensland (EQ), Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA), Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA), and Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE). She has participated in development programs with QAGOMA, Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance (SCCA) and TAFE Queensland. Kylie has worked in community settings coordinating and facilitating public programming with Community Development Queensland, Creative Samford Inc., Flying Arts Alliance and as an Artist in Residence at Barefoot Early Learning Centre.
Kylie has completed several public art commissions and was a finalist in the 2025 RQAS Queen’s Wharf Brisbane Art Prize, 2024 Deakin University Contemporary Small Sculpture Award and 2023 Moreton Bay Art Prize.
