Capestone Lake
Artwork Statement:
Nebulae, the shadowy regions of space, are the birthplace of stars. Between the Stars explores the burgeoning community of Capestone around the lake.
Elongated and distorted by the sun, shadows interact with upscaled shapes - splatters, splashes, leaf whorls, deconstructed prams and scooters, and details from the built environment. In places, forms appear ready to dive into the lake or as if they have just emerged from a swim.
Signalling connection to place and a sense of belonging, these colourful forms inspired by encounters around the lake, serve to remind that diversity is strength, and we are all really stardust.
