The Pavilion Artists
The Pavilion Artists are a dynamic collective founded in 2024, united by a passion for collaboration and creative exploration. Emerging as a self-managed group, their origins are closely linked to their inaugural participation in the Samford + Hinterland Arts Trails, where they transformed the Dayboro Showgrounds – a place steeped in layered history and culture - into a vibrant exhibition space. The Pavilion Artists operate on principles of equality and consensus, ensuring that every member’s voice shapes their direction and practice. Their approach fosters a genuine sense of community, where artists not only create side by side but also support and challenge each other, nurturing both personal growth and collective innovation.
Looking ahead, 2026 marks an exciting iteration of the group. The Pavilion Artists will create site-specific works that respond directly to the unique environment of the pavilion. This process- and research-driven project will culminate in a showing of works in process in September 2026, offering visitors an intimate glimpse into the evolving creative journey of the collective. Through these shared experiences, the Pavilion Artists continue to cultivate a spirit of inclusivity and experimentation, championing a model of art-making that thrives on connection and mutual inspiration.
